Is it possible to get a TV licence for less than a year for someone occupying an otherwise empty house and being provided with a TV for a week or so or is there no flexibility at all with a year or not at all?

they only do annual, but you can get a refund for unused months. That said, a couple of weeks use, don't worry about it - if you get caught, and believe me that is a very big if as they go through other procedures first which takes months, just say it's a holiday and you are covered by your licence at home.

Thanks a lot- I have since discovered they can excuse empty houses so seems to be covered officially.
