Is it an HD Freesat box you are purchasing? I am fairly sure that the box needs to be HD otherwise you will just get standard digital TV.

sorry, but I don't know if you also need an additional cable from your sky dish.
you will only get HD from Freesat if you purchase a HD digi-box. The HD box probably requires 2 inputs from your dish as it probably has a hard drive for recording programmes.
Panasonic are the only manufacturer at present with inbuilt HD Freesat in their Televisions, doing away with the need for a digibox. The same applies for Sky HD i.e you need a HD box
Why not look at the help on the Freesat web site

Thanks for you answers. The HD box works from 1downcable and the HDMI cable connected to tv and hd box.Ididn't want to be able to record so I didn't need a recordable HD box.All seems well.
