Objection to the word DUMB

If I couldn`t speak I would certainly be offended when I heard people using the word dumb to mean stupid! I first came across this dreadful interpretation many years ago in America, and a few years later it had crossed the water. Don`t people ever stop to think when they used this word!

Mute is the correct term for anyone with a physical inability to vocalise; dumb is out moded and considered offensive.
