Hello ABers

Does anyone know the name of a play -eighteenth century I think

It involves a young man (heir) has gambled away his fortune and is left only with the family portraits

and unknown to him his benefactor sort of comes back (into the play) and tries to buy his portrait from him

Revived in London around 20yrs ago with Arthur Lowe from Dad's Army as the benefactor
