On my Tv it has freeview built in, when selected the number of the chanel and title and the sound - Mono is till across the page, how do I get it off?

check your on screen display default setting and alter it.

Read the manual.

On one of my tvs this display can be turned on and off by pressing a button on the remote control.

On another I have access the on screen controls and turn it on and off from there.

which button on the remote, as I have the manual and cannot find anything. the other thing is on the freeview part - called DTV, it is stuck on channel 1 any more advice??
