If there are any good writer's forums so that I can find out information about the process involved from start to finish ie: getting an agent etc. I have a few ideas about what I'd like to write so putting pen to paper wont be the hard bit. Any advice would be much appreciated.

It's my favourite site. There are groups that cover everything from poetry and romance to flash fiction, non-fiction and erotica. There are people there who write and publish for a living, as well as those like us who are fairly new to all this. They also have guest and celebrity writers on a regular basis.

Thanks saxy, thats a great help and a good start.
Joel Goldman (great author) was given the advice that you only need six things to become an author. Read, read, read, write, write, write.

Thanks gary, that seems like good advice to me. I dont read enough at the moment but I have many ideas about what I want to write. Thats the easy bit, it's expressing it on paper thats the hard bit
If you do visit Writers Dock, you may be subject to more 'vetting' at the moment than you would on other forums. They've had one or two server attacks of late and I know the guy who runs/owns the site is pretty much working flat out to keep things running, so please bear with him.

Hey saxy, thanks for the warning, I am now a fully fledged member. I completely understand the predicament he is in. I found the final question quite humerous actually. It seems like a great site and I look forward to using it so many thanks for the suggestion.
