My husband and fellow DTGK fanatic died in Jan. I want to thank all askers and anwerers to the site for the comfort I get when I struggle to keep up the good work of "if you don't use it you'll lose it" kind and find some-one stuck exactly where I am.

I'm sure all ABers will join with me to send you our rather belated condolences.

Glad you're still visiting AB, and finding us a helpful and sympathetic lot.

Ditto to the previous answer. Keep going and get involved in a few puzzles, you will get lots of help on this site as always.
All the best.
I know the feeling, Cookist. I was widowed just over a year ago and I dreaded the weekends, until I found Answerbank and all the banter and help to be found here. It has made all the difference and I can heartily recommend joining in - it is very therapeutic in lots of ways.
You are never alone when you are on-line with AB..
All the best

So sorry to hear about your loss Cookist. It must be a great comfort to you having so many virtual friends at the touch of a keyboard, (not to mention the fact that others get stuck exactly like you do).
All the very best for the future.
very sorry for your loss
I am late with my reply - Apologies - I have MS. Not too good with writing the answers but keeping the brain cells alive. Keep up the good work Cookist - you are not on your own whatsoever and never will be with DTGK. Mrs M
So sorry for your loss Cookist, I too am a widow though it's been four years now. My husband and I used to do all the crosswords on a Sunday afternoon, but back then we didn't have the Internet so used to trawl through books and then text a friend to look up the last few answers for us. I really enjoy the AB, there are some very nice members. All the best, Babz
Dear Cookist I know exactly how you feel because my husband died in October and then I didn't use Answer Bank but my brother got me doing quizzes and told me about AB. Since using it regularly I have made so many lovely friends and everyone is so helpful and supportive.Perhaps you've seen the MM links game on Saturday morning , I started doing that and got to know "the regulars". It starts at 9am on Sat morning and someone posts 4 words and you have to put a word with each of them to make another word. e.g This weeks words were book, rest, break and free., so you could have Book Mark, then Back Rest ,Break Fast and Free Spirit. Not too good at explaining!! Its only for fun and the answers are posted at 7pm so you could look for the posting tonight and see the answers. If ever you feel too bad just send me a message and we can have a quick chat, but my thoughts are with you now because I've had a glum day because its quiet on a Sunday and its raining!!! Things do get better although slowly. Love Evsajo
Just to add my condolences for your loss and wish you well in the times ahead.

There is a lot of kindness shown on this site and in today's world this is both rare and reassuring. It might seem trivial to people who don't do crosswords, but when you invest time in trying to complete one, then meet an obstacle, it is a real benefit to ask for help then find it forthcoming.
There are a lot of selfless people on this site who 'ride to the rescue' week in, week out.
And kind acts are a balm when life is hard.
Good luck with the crosswords and I'm glad the site is a comfort to you.
