Was the wife of a British Prime Minister right to rebuff the World's press, when she made the following remark to them as she left Downing Street with the PM, on their way to Buckingham Palace.

' We will not miss you '

Or do you think it would have been better to keep her mouth shut, until she was just plain Mrs Blair.

According to the BBC she said 'Goodbye. I think we'll miss you'.
I couldn't really give a to$$. She's going, and that's the main thing as far as I'm concerned!!
She did say "not miss you" . Thought it made her sound childish . She should have kept quiet .

I think you have got it wrong ludwig, her exact words were, and I quote ' Goodbye I don't think we'll miss you '

What the live footage. Where did you gain your information of the event from?
Well the point is anotheroldgit is that she's not "just plain Mrs Blair" is she? She's a barrister, QC and part-time judge as well.

Many years ago I had reason to consult a QC and a protocol had to be followed. I could only see him with my solicitor and was not allowed to speak to him directly even though he was on the other side of the desk. It was farcical as I had to ask my solicitor to ask him questions.

These people are so arrogant and self-important that comments like she's made become second nature. I really don't think we can better from them.

Incidentally, she did say "We will not miss you"

You're right oldgit - I completely misread it. Sorry about that.
On thinking about it though, if my dad was Tony Booth I'd like to think that I'd think carefully before putting my foot in it with such crass comments.

People in glasshouses...
Just watched it on the news and she did say 'I don't think we'll miss you'. I thought, when I watched it earlier, that she was very rude. She could have thought it instead of saying it out loud. I'm glad to see the back of the pair of them. Let's hope that GB can do better.
The woman is rude, arrogant and ungracious. All she had to do was to smile and say nowt, she can think whatever she likes and no one would be the wiser.
Although I admire and respect Mrs Blair for the way she has worked and studied hard to become top of the tree and has made a hugely successful career in a male dominated field(law) - I have to say I do not think she is a very nice person.
I am glad to see the back of her more than her husband. I am not trying to suggest that PM's spouses should always be in the back ground, but I think the likes of Mary Wilson,Audrey Callaghan,Denis Thatcher,Norma Major and now Sarah Brown will be remembered with more fondness.

She wont miss the press, they reported news of the greedy bitch charging charities sixty thousant pounds for making a speech. caught her out property dealing with a known gangster making her a small fortune, she condoned suicide bombers, saying it is their only way to get what they want, how she got away so lightly i will never know, she and him are supposed to be socialists ar'nt they, good riddance to the money grabbing bitch.
Yeah, a bit childish and ungracious of her.

Can't say it bothers me really though. She's the wife of some unemployed bloke. She can say what she wants.
Hang on, he's not unemployed is he? The people of Sedgefield might have something to say about that.
he's changed jobs. People do that. She dislikes the press. People do that too. You really think she should tell the News of the World staff - the ones who bug royal phones and so on - how wonderful they are? No way. Kick'em, Cherie!
There's always one !

She should have bowed out gracefully & kept her wide trap firmly shut - but no she had to have the last word!
Who cares? She looks like a horse anyway. And an unattractive male one at that....
Ah, diddums. Did the nasty free press faithfully report your jaunts of greed, Cherie? It's soooo frustrating not to be able to control those news agencies, isn't it? If only you could throw their journalists into Soviet-style gulags for printing the truth. Damn free society, damn free press.
