Is it true that all TVs are made by about 4 different companies and given different brand names? If so is there a website where i can see which makes are "the same"?

I'm not sure about all TV's etc, but a TV engineer told me that there is no such company as Hitachi any more, all Hitachi equipment is made up of various company's parts. so it could be the same for the other brands.

Happens with babyfood, cornflakes, freezers, lenses, biscuits and even cars, so it's easy to believe it happens with tvs.

LG make most if not all of the worlds LCD tv screens.
Its then down to the indiviudal companies to put their own technology along side them.

Whatever TV you buy (as with all consumer electricals) it's almost guaranteed to have come from the same factory in the far east. So forget about brand names, these things are all the same inside. I've done buisness with factories in China guarantee you this is the case.
