My list of favourites normally displayed on the left of any internet page has been hijacked by a list inserted by http://globe-finder.cc/left.html. How can I get rid of this and revert to my own favourites?

I don't want to go to that page you've listed as it may "hijack" my favourites also. All I have to say though is, if it has taken over your favourites, it's unlikely you'll be able to get them back. It may have deleted all your favourite shortcuts from the Favourites folder, and copied its own there. So, I believe, they're lost. The only thing I would consider doing is deleting the favourites list, deleting your cookies and temporary internet files, and making your favourites list over again. To save this from happening in future, a good site to use is http://www.linkspage.org . You make an account, and add all your favourites onto one single page that can be accessed anywhere on the internet. This is a GREAT thing if you ever want to access your favourites anywhere else away from your PC (and believe me, it comes in handy). Also, you'll never have this problem of losing your favourites as they are held on the website, not your own PC. I've NEVER known this site to go down, so don't worry about not being able to get them.
you need adaware (freeware application) from http://www.lavasoft.de to scrub this and other nasty spyware progs from your machine
