Help, trying to track down name of old war film.

Sorry the details are a bit sketchy but this is all I can remember. The fim centres on a pilot shot down during war and presumed dead. He does survive but is badly burned and has surgery on his face. He returns home to find his wife/girlfriend has married someone else. She doesn't recognise him but senses something about him. It;'s not the Return of Martin Guerre or Sommersby but if anyone can name the film I'd be grateful, Thanks.
