Last night, Joss stone presented an award at the Brits.
Was it just me or was she pretending to be American?

She was an absolute ass, she's been living in america for the last few years thats why her voice kept jumping over the atlantic more times than Kelly Osbournes.

But she is totally up her own arse though.
Her voice sounded daft and why did she keep walking around the stage? I can't remember what she was talking about but she was trying to be humourous and just embarrased herself.
I can't stand her singing either.
And don't even get me started on her dress sense!
Did she sound like Vicky from Eastenders??
I didn't see the show, but to be fair, some people unconciously assume the speech patterns of those around them.

I am guilty of that - as a music freelance, I deal with a lot of Americans frequently, and I find myself subverting my accent, slowing my speech, and using Americanisms, simply because it makes communication easier, so I can fully sympathise with anyone's hybrid accent if they are British, but have lived in the US.

JS may not even be aware of the fact that her voicce has altered - how often do we listen to ourselves talking.

OK, that was the question, so i don't have to get into the fact that the 'novelty' of her 'soulful' voice v. her age is now long gone, and frankly she should just go away now ...
You must see this picture of her - the hair is forgivable but that outfit reminds me of my nan's peg bag!
