Been trying to think of the name of a film from about 15-20 years ago about an escape by jews from a concentration camp, I could be way out with the age of the film though, can anybody think of it?

Escape from Sobibor?
That sounds about right ~ a fantastic film, although tough viewing...as you would expect.
You must be thinking of escape from sobibor. this is my all time favourite film but it affects me for ages after its finished. It stars Rutger Hauer and ends with them all escaping but only half make it. They just run like crazy. I think one of the most poignant things in this film is when the girl makes Rutger Hauers character a shirt and it tells you at the end of the film how it is now on display in a museum. Incredibly moving.
Oh unrulie..I love the movie too, but are you like me in certain scenes you have to walk out of the room or look away?

The scene where the guy finds out his family aren't going to join him just rips my heart out.
hi Pippa, yes, I'm the same, the worst scene for me is when the baby that woman is hiding cries and she has to hand it over and that ******* shoots it!. You hear it crying then a bang and then silence. Heartbreaking. Can you imagine that??? also the bit when the little boy finds the gas chambers where he last saw his family heading to. . What a film. I actually carry on crying at the end for about half an hour.
Me too, unrulie...when the baby scene is about to start I usually go and make a cuppa ~ but it doesn't stop me thinking about it :o(

Strangely enough one of the most horrible segments for me is the one where the wealthy looking young Jewish lady gets off the train..and the scene cuts to one of the Jewish workers sorting through her clothes, obviously after the lady has been to the 'shower'

That movie really does it it all home.
