Anyone remember this, what the heck was that all about and is it one of the reasons we are all bonkers today? Surely someone was smoking some waccy baccy when that was thought up. Also Witchiepoo scared the beJesus out of me, and have never been able to wear stripey socks since, scared for life or what?

i loved this programme when i was young cos i had a BIG BIG crush on jack wild at the time, apperntly it was a fun kids programm about a boy and his pet dragon, i think it was a dragon.

Was it not about his magic flute that witchiepoo was trying to steal, and H R Puff 'n' Stuff was mayor of the island and he was a big orange or a dragon or a cross between the two. Thats what I mean, totally weird! Also do you remember Hatsville, this was in a similar vain.
I have the complete H R Pufnstuf on DVD and it's still brilliant today! Some of the big set-piece song and dance numbers are amazing.

Warpig - do you mean Hatty Town?

Question Author
Quizmonkey, maybe I am not sure as was quite young, think Jack Wild was in it to and there was something about these huge hats, its all a bit vague to be honest.

seriously though, do you think the Krofft's took some sort of hallucinagenic drugs?
Warpig, are you US? In the UK there was an animated show called Hatty Town where all the characters were huge hats with arms and legs. Main one was a sombrero (I think) who had a pet donkey. And the milkman was a milkman's cap etc.

And yes th Kroffts were probably on something.

QM, am in the Uk, and your description of Hatty Town sounds about right to my somewhat clouded memory. Jeepers, not a bit of wonder I am nuts!!!
Warpig1, Lidsville was also made by Sid and Marty Krofft ( producers of H R Pufnstuf ).

Lidsville starred Butch Patrick, who was Eddie Munster in The Munsters.

Hatty Town Tales was a British animated show...

I loved the Krofft's The Bugaloos ( one of whom went on to star in Pipkins ).

you have a great memory for detail warpig, i cant remember a flute but then i am old and decrepid now and my brain doesnt work so well, lol. anyway it was a sad day when jack wild died earlier this year, it felt like a piece f my childhood had been taken away and jack will always be my hero.
You don't remember Freddie the talking flute?! Witchiepoo coveted it majorly.
Question Author
Jack is dead, am upset now, didnt know that.
Question Author
