I thought the jaded metropolitan type held back when they got to the bank and started running before the police showed themselves? Possibly in return for a pay-off -- you just can't trust crooks these days!

Our Johnny did shout 'b*****' or something at JMT when he realised they had been rumbled. I wasn't entirely sure why; you could very well be right. Maybe I should go back to Midsomer Murders at least it's entirely implausible. P.S. I'm not being coy by using b*****. I originally put in the whole word and got a message back saying that answers should not include 'profanities'!
