What are your choices for the best & worst TV quizzes ever? My best has to be University Challenge presented by Bamber Gascoigne not the overbearing and smug Jeremy Paxman. The worst has to be The Weakest Link which has so much wrong with it - namely, Anne Robinson, the number of questions which have more than one correct answer not to mention the number of times the answer given by AR is not the right one, the fact that it is called the Weakest Link when most of the time the strongest link never makes it to the final round....I'll stop there or I'll run out of space.

Best - 15 to 1

Worst - Going for Gold ("you're playing catch up, select" - AAAAAAARGHHHH!)
Like you O I like University Challenge but Mastermind is diferent as you have to be put on the spot for a second and you are up against the clock as an invididual. What I think quizes should do but don't do, very much like that silly Egg Heads, why don't they ask the teams the same questions, have them in a separate room but when it comes to tie breakers and one having an easier question than the other, if they both had the same question, there could be no doubt?
Worst (2) - Cathphrase (or Catchfreeze as Roy Walker called it!) Why did he say, "good guess but it's not right" when the quess was PANTS?! I'm all for encouraging the contestant, but COME ON!
WHAT!?! Going for Gold was one of the best. the cg intro was years ahead of its time and Henry Kelly a tv personality othersstrive to emulate.

I like University Challenge too (like you i like bamber gascoigne doin it) Im not too good at answering but I get a good laugh cheating :)

Im not sure which is the worst as there as so many of them, though I think the one that had dusty bin in was really rubbish
Blockbusters was the best. I'm with eyeshade on Egg Heads. Makes me want to break the telly.
I love Mastermind - especially the general knowledge bits, and 15 to 1.

Worst - shafted with Kilroy - could anyone follow the many rules?

Best is 'Have I Got New For You', and the worst in all aspects has to be '3 - 2 - 1' What drugs were those people taking! "Your clue said wheels, and doors, and a windscreen, and you can ride in it .... that's right, it's a dustbin!" Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
going for gold was superb,so was winner takes all.

Best: Have I got News for You
Pop Quiz (even though Mike Read was host)
Bullseye (I used to love is when Jim Bowen said 'Now here's what you would have won) and took the contestant to see the car that wasn't his.
Name that Tune

Worst: anything that has crosswords in it.

I have to say QI it just rocks...
