great list, why waste time watching rubbish like Casablanca when you can see Boyz n the Hood, so much more relevant to my daily life in the ghetto.

can't help you much on the 50 films to see before you die... but i can give you my top 10 films to see whilst you are still alive!!

Here they are in no particular order:

-shallow grave
-ghost in the shell
-warriors of the wind
-some like it hot
-dancer in the dark
-blade runner (directors cut)
-dead poets society
- the shawshank redemption
-in the name of the rose
-the abyss

Were the producers of the show just trying to provoke an argument? About 50% of that list was OK but their selection of works is curious; (to give one example) there are about half a dozen Hitchcocks I'd recommend to anyone before they see N by NW (which is really just an extended chase).

What a cruddy list! Where is Casablanca, where is Some Like it Hot, where is Brief Encounter, where is Million Dollar Baby, where is The Sound of Music.....!
