i think there were 2 versions in the cinema as well
Happens with a lot of movies. And yes, it's annoying, esp when you see the same film twice with different endings
I didn't see this at the cinema but have seen it on DVD, i am just curious now to know what was different about the cinema version??
-- answer removed --
I watched it on DVD and they have both endings on that, didn't know which they showed at the cinema though.
I watched Butterfly effect first time and LOVED the ending then saw it again a few months later and they had some stupid "happy" ending, I was really annoyed!
The DVD has all the ending on it, theres like 4 I think. 3 of them are the same thing slightly altered.
Whats the film actually about. Everyone i know seems to say its really good?

The one i saw at the cinema in the ending he goes in to the office to watch the home movies and instead watching his birth he watches one where he met kayleigh and tommy at there party, instead of making friends with them he swears and threatens to kill her whole family making her want to choose her mum to live with instead. a much better ending and a very powerful performance.
wicked movie though
any one else seen that version? didnt realise they had two at the cinema though seems to be loads of versions aint got my one on the dvd though
Never heard of that version, sounds good though.
