About 13 years ago there was a drama series following a japanese and a american soldier and it told of their tales which both meeting at the end with the jap soldier a prisoner in a us military base. it was on about the same time as lipstick on your collar. Any ideas wot it was called

Are you sure it was a series? Sounds a bit like Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence. Only series I can think of is Tenko.

There is also the marvellous John Boorman film Hell In The Pacific starring Lee Marvin and Toshiro Mifune as opposing soldiers stranded on a Pacific island.
