I think we used to sing this in brownies, many, many, many years ago! lol! if i recall correctly it's an Aussie song, and i think it's called Kookaburragh, though god only knows how's it's spelt! Kookaburragh sits in the old oak tree?

Here you go, Kookaburra, and it's a gum tree, lol!
It was rather a while ago that i was in the brownies ;o)
And I would be quite happy to never ever hear it again!
My god - bless you for the question SP and for the answer J-gb. Watched Dr Who today with my three year old and couldn't place that annoying song! Having said that I know the little one will love it tonigt when i sing it (badly)
We used to sing it as a round at school, along with 'Old Abram Brown' and 'Nineteen Birds and One Bird More'.
We used to sing this song in school when I was a lass. The words are
Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree
Merry Merry king of the Bush is he
Laugh Kookaburra Laugh Kookaburra
Gay your life must be.
(Ha ha ha) - this bit we used to sing but it wasn't sung on Dr Who.
