Why oh why do we get subjected to end credits being suddenl;y "shoved over" to one side of the screen (so as they are un-readable) in order that a trailer for a completely different programme can be shown?! Dream Team is a prime example, but by no means the only one!

Personally, I often wonder "oh who was such and such - I'll look in the credits", etc, but then when the credits come up...........AAARGHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

I agree absolutely.

I hate it also, BUT

The TV companies know that they lose a high percentage of their audience between shows.

If they leave the credits running they know people will get bored and use the remote control to move to another channel.

I must say that the way TV is going at the moment with long advert breaks, constant adverts for future programs, talking over the ends of films, poor quality programs etc they are likely to start losing their audience altogether.

Yes just one of the infuriating aspects of modern TV. The thing that really winds me up is when they show you everything that's going to happen in the show at the start, no need to bloody well watch then. I presume it's to cater for chavs with a low attention span or something.

oooh I agree on this one SurreyGuy, it's one of my pet hates !!!!
it's not that I always want to read the credits but sometimes, if it's been dramatic, sad, or even really funny I want to savour it for a few seconds at least before something else is thrown at me. It's actually those trailers that make me use the remote not the credits. Maybe we should complain more to the tv companies?

vhg - you're right, I (& my friends & family) watch far less tv nowadays.

I actually complained to Sky about a related matter (their continuity announcer talking over the end of a film) and they claimed that customers actually request such information!

(Obviously incapable of using the newspaper/TV mags/teletext/internet/DigiGuide/Interactive/EPG etc etc...)

Thanks all - I'm glad it's not just ME!

Le Marchand If you know anyone that would be stupid enough to ask the TV companies to do that, PLEASE promise me you will cause them bodily harm! :o)

Last night just at the end of NYPD Blue in a particularly touching scene someone must have pressed the wrong button and the trailer for the next show shoved in before the credits had even started - so count yourself lucky!
I was screaming at the telly!
The worst culprit is Children's BBC! The little kids may not cared who cared 'teacher number three' in the Basil Brush Show, but some of us do!
