Where did the phrase 'Handy Bendy Ghandi' come from. I think it was Neil from the Young Ones but I'm not sure!

I'm not sure about the series (may have been 'a kick up the eighties'). It came about when the epic film Ghandi was just out. It came from a mock advert: 'You've seen the film....now get the doll....Handi, Bendi, Ghandi.....complete with a wardrobe of robes and a cast of five thousand followers...or something to that effect.
