If they are BAFTA awards, why are they referring to them as British Television Awards and not mentioning the F word?

I think they stand for the British Academy for Film and Television Awards.

As far as Im aware,BAFTA stands for


British Academy for Film and Theatre Awards

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts are presenting The British Academy Television Awards (sponsored by Pioneer).

Thanks kempie, that explains it!

They used to be run togther but in order to give them more publicity they split them and the Film element was moved to before the Oscars
