Well then, what do you think of the choice of Michelle and Ruth in the final two?

When I knew two were going I was expecting Paul and Michelle to go. I wasn't in the slightest bit surprised Paul came across like he did in the interviews. I liked Ansell and thought he did well and in the end was hoping he would pip Ruth to be in the top two. Michelle comes across as nice, but I still don't think she's strong enough personality wise.

I thought Ansell and Ruth would progress prior to the episode.

The interviewers were very hard. I liked the property guy, i thought he was top notch.

I think Michelle will win, but in essence I think the candidates have been poor this year, and she would be the best of a bad bunch. She comes across as unimaginably bland though.

Yeah, I'm with you I thought Paul was going to get caught out really. I must say I seen a different side to Michelle, even though there's no real warmth there, I think she deserved it. I don't like Ruths communication skills, and personally would stop listening to her at so early a point that I wouldn't get to see her good skills. Ansell, I think would have been OK.
I'm glad Michelle has stayed - nothing to do with her business skills, it's those cheekbones!

I don't think any of them are outstanding but I'd prefer Michelle to win over (in my opinion) the totally unlikeable Ruth. I agree with curiosity, I'd switch off after her first sentence too. I think it was one of the interviewers who said she'd burn herself out & I've known people like her & that's exactly what they did.
I know she seems bland but there's plenty of time for Michelle to blossom personality wise.

I've only ever seen 10 mins of this show before watching last night's episode where I concluded that Paul came across as a complete dithering cocky idiot, Michelle seemed like she deserved it more than the others but knows exactly what she is doing and has her own agenda (that's not a bad thing), Ansell seemed like a decent bloke and would be good to learn and to further himself, and I cannot bear Ruth, she is aggressive, rude, and doesn't seem to try to communicate well at all and I find it soooooo hard to believe anything that was written in her CV.

*sigh*

Am feeling better now i got that off my chest....

I agree now about Ruth - over the series I've changed my mind several times whether I've liked her or not, but I think she's too aggressive and would definitely get people who she works with backs up. Ruth and Paul were my favourites to be in the top two - now though I think it might be Michelle that wins. Like with Tim he picked last year, she has the character that can be moulded, rather than Ruth who I don't think he can change.
I just want to know if Paul had anything in his suitcase when he left????
Probably just his over-inflated ego, milly143!

I don't reckon he did Milly, it looked pretty light when he picked it up to wheel out!
I'm really glad that Paul went- everyone's been saying what a fun bloke he is and really nice but I failed to see it and glad that the interviewers saw through him. He's the sort of person that really rubs me up the wrong way and as for his comments about Big Issue sellers!! Easy for him to go away and plan selling tactics- he's probably had a good nights sleep in a comfortable bed and (by the look of him) plenty of hot meals inside him before he drives to work in the morning- what a conceited prat!- perhaps you've figured I don't like him...

Paul's comment about Big Issue sellers sounded like someone trying (and failing) to be funny in an observational humour way.

I too think Michelle will now win as Ruth has irritated Sir Alan quite a bit.

Is it just me or is Ruth a little reminiscent of 24's Lynn McGill, a competent worker, unable to get along with others?

I adore this series, just like the last. Never seen the yank version, and I don't really want to. Not a great fan of Alan Sugar per se, but, just like Gordon Ramsay, he has a magnetic pull, and is very compulsive viewing!

I've made mistakes all the way with my choices. I must adnmit to loving Syed, even though he came across as a prat. I believe cream had risen to the top, as all those eliminated were poor, but last night bought a tear to the old eye.

Like many, i thought Ruth and Ansell would be a shoe-in, but how wriong I was. Never fooled by Paul, he just flatters to deceive, very arrogant ******** indeed!

However, Michelle was my surpirse, she really impressed Alan, and most of the viewers as well. Big mistake in choosing Ruth over Ansell, when he gave a superb reason/answer for staying and she just went through the stock motions.

At least it makes my choice for the final easier. i would have wanted Ansell, but now it's Michelle, deffo!

Sorry, that's the kiss of death for her then!

what is the american version of this show? is it called my big obnoxious boss or something?
and i also agree that i changed my mind about ruth, she seems nice enough at times but comes across too pushy and that makes her seem intimidating and rude
Question Author
candybar - the American version of the show is also 'The Apprentice' - same format pretty much, just with Donald Trump instead of Alan Sugar. My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss is a parody of the show, and aims to make the contestants look as stupid as possible! Instead of a job (which they think they'll get), they'll receive $250,000 (I think it's that amount).
I do hope Ruth wins. I think she has been consistent throughout and she is so determined. I also think what you see with Ruth is what you get. Michelle is the original 'still waters'. You are never sure what is going on in the depths. She is already earning the same amount of money mentioned that the winner will earn, so I can't make out what she can really get out of it, except for the 'fame' of course! I will be watching tonight and cheering them both on as they have done well to reach the final furlong.
