Two characters who appear in quite a number of the Reginald Hill "D & P" books don't seem to have made it onto TV - I refer to Franny Roote and Edgar Wield's partner Edwin. Can anyone confirm this or have I just missed them ?

Franny Roote was also in Dialogues Of The Dead,played by Tim Plester.


Does anyone know why Edgar Wield hasn't been in the last few series,he was a great character.

The TV and novel continuities are separate, therefore both Ellie and Wield still appear in the most recent books despite having been written out of the TV series.
