It's probably in the top 30 but I've seen MUCH worse. Shanghai Surprise, Woman On Top & National Lampoon's Men In White are 3 that spring to mind. Dare you to sit all the way through any of them.

No, Waterworld is, as I found out last night. The worst thing about though was that I stayed up to watch it.

It was the What happens next syndrome

I think Way Of The Gun has to be one of the worst films ever. Bubba Ho Tep is absolutely pants also!

No, Four Weddings And Hugh Grant beats anything else out of sight.

In fact, just thinking of it means one of my 'heads' is coming on, I'm off to threaten a complete stranger .....

Common I know waterworld isn't great but for sheer badness Battlefield Earth is so bad it's worth watching just to see how bad it is! I also think the remake of Rollerball was pretty bad.

The Player was fairly awful.

The Monitors is also bad.

I hope you'll forgive my indulgence but I've had a think about other films I've seen that were actually worse than BE (in my humble opinion). In no particular order:

  • AI

  • Soul Plane

  • Jaws 4 (Jaws: The Revenge)

  • Gigli

  • Swept Away

  • Rollerball (the John McTiernan remake)

  • Barb Wire

  • Boat Trip

  • Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot

  • View To A Kill

  • Britannia Hospital

  • Pee-wee's Big Adventure

  • F/X: Murder By Illusion

  • F/X2

  • Body Double

  • Neverending Story 3

  • Teen Wolf Too

  • Hudson Hawk

  • Children Of The Corn 3

  • Car 54 Where Are You?

  • Going Overboard

  • Critters 3

  • Grease 2

  • Son Of The Mask

  • Jaws 3-D

  • Lawnmower Man 2

  • Any Police Academy Sequel

The worst movie I have ever seen is 'Children shouldn't play with dead things'

Complete rubbish ~ but I hear that it has a cult fanbase so must be in the 'so bad it's great' genre.

The worst film I have ever seen is Solaris. The remake with George Clooney. It should have been a 20 minute Tales of the Unexpected episode. The only film I have ever thought of turning off half way through to watch Eastenders instead!

This may be of interest too :

a view to a kill any film with walken in it deserves points!!!!!!!!!

Not heard the spectacularly crap Ishtar mentioned yet!
There was a movie called 'Mute Witness' that we cringed through until 10 mins from the end, then turned it off. We left it on that long cos we thought 'This just can't stay this bad all the way through'. We were so wrong.
No, Absolute Beginners. It was so bad that it was once prerecorded onto one of a pack of blank tapes, giving you the option to keep or delete as you saw fit. As I didn't actually pay for it, I watched it, and it was dire.
I quite liked the first Pee Wee and F/X movies.

The only 2 movies I have ever given a "1" to on IMDb are:

"Darklight" and "Frost: Portrait of a Vampire".
I cant remember the name of the film, but it's the one with the all saints sisters in and was directed by Dave Stewart. That has to be one of the worst films i have ever seen.
The Avengers...its the only film I have ever gotten off my butt to turn off halfway through.
Solaras was cr*p

But most recent winner has to be the new Starsky & Hutch - I had to turn it off it was that bad
Worst movie I've seen at the cinema in recent years was Best in Show. Walked out half way through. Amazingly this film actually got decent reviews!!! My own fault though, same folk who made Spinal Tap. What a let down, utter drivel. I've had more fun at the dentist.
I actually read the book recently and it was trashy sci-fi but readable. haven't dared try the film though.....

I have two contenders for this title:

Nick Fury:Agent Of Shield starring David Hassellhoff.I knew it would be bad but I still watched it.

Entangled, starring Pierce Brosnan.French arty type film with a really obvious twist.

Both of these are worse than Vogon poetry.
