I read an interview with Sir Alan Sugar recently and he made it clear that the producers of 'The Apprentice' always edit out his nice comments and sometimes ask him to be even nastier and re-shoot a scene. He actually refuses to do the latter.
Alan Sugar is a nice chap, very charitable and knows what he's talking about but he's just making TV. People for some reason love to witness the humiliation of others. It's all part of the dumbing down of the proleteriate to appeal to our less intelligent and viscious side.
The Apprentice, Weakest Link, How clean is your house, Dragons Den, Hells Kitchen, Pop Idol, X-Factor, What not to Wear, even the new format for Masterchef its the in your face, make the unknown feel small, confidence shattering style that is the vogue at the moment. To be cool you have got to be the head honcho and talk down on others. And bullying is on the increase in schools too.

Because he can! If you had his money, so could you.

These people don't have to go on the programme.

Glossoppswift has hit the button - it's TV. Reacting in this way is the modern equivalent of hissing and booing when the panto villain comes on - and just like the panto villain, it's all pretend, and uinderneath, they are all perfectly nice people.
Do you never go out Glossopswift?
Not watched either series of the programme but as a self made man it is obvious that Sugar does not suffer fools, time wasters and b*llsh*tters gladly, and why should he?

You're right, people shouldnt suffer fools gladly and he clearly works very hard to maintain his company but then as they say.... manners cost f**k all.

Having said that i dont watch the program but im willing to guess that some of the contestants deserve all the abuse they get. Money grabbing little sods!

Alan M Sugar is a business man. He didn't get rich by being nice.

He also has a huge ego. His company, Amstrad is made up of his initials and the beginning of the word "trading" - AMSTrad, geddit?

Having said that, all reality shows are carefully edited to make heroes and villians out of whoever is on it. It's why Big Brother has script writers listed in the end credits...
