I am sure this has been debated before but is there anyone else who is watching very little TV at present? There just seems to be absolutely nothing of quality on at the moment. I am just glad I have a great selection of DVDs of classic comedy drama etc otherwise i think I would throw the TV out. Having said that it does mean you can enjoy the other things in life instead.

We have Sky, Sky Plus and Freeview in this house, last night there was nothing on so we watched Days of Thunder DVD, brilliant stuff.
Lost is back on next week and 24 the week after so definitely something to look forward to. Medium is also good. But I know what you mean - whats the song 57 channels and nothing on !!!
I've seen whats on offer on Sky and have never bothered to get it. Reality tv, rehashed detectives and non entity celebrities rule the roost these days. Thank goodness I have a DVD and a computer, the batteries in my television remote seem to last ages these days.
I might watch a little bit of news or something while eating me dinner, but the only shows I make a point of watching at the moment are Shameless on a Tuesday (just finished 15 minutes ago) and My Name Is Earl on a Friday - both Channel 4.

I'm also a big fan of 24, but have long since given up the battle to keep up with it on telly, so I just wait for the DVDs. More expensive, but at least that way I don't miss anything.
Totally agree, pretty much pants all round these days. Now that I'm on Amazon DVD rental I'm tempted to forego terrestrial TV completely. littleoldme - you should check it out, no need to buy DVDs ever again!
I rarely watch tv nowadays, I am watching uktv history at the moment, a good documentary about the Inquisition, but generally, tv is a load of rubish, I would get rid of it, but have been told 'no', I think my wife would get the shakes without the soaps.
The current trend with so-called "celeb" driven reality shows is just a way to fill airtime cheaply, and as for pop idol & all the rest, if these people have genuine talent, they'll make it under their own steam, and we'd be spared the option of cowell & osborne pontificating to those unfortunate enough to actually need to watch this tripe

Totally disagree! (Assuming you have access to Cable/Satellite and/or *ahem* "other sources for non-terrestrial TV).

I am currently enjoying:

24, Surface, Life on Mars, Threshold, CSI (Vegas & NY), Lost, Invasion, Cold Case, Bones, South Park, Alias, Numb3rs, Monk, Desperate Housewives, Sea of Souls, Battlestar Galactica.

Also either watching, but not sure about, or taping for viewing when/if I get time:

Stargate (SG1 & Atlantis), Supernatural, Smallville, The Eleventh Hour, The Inside.

The lists only include shows that I am watching on a weekly basis and not shows like Deadwood or Prison break that (at the pace I am following) aren't currently being broadcast.

I've been watching quite a lot lately, namely:

Medium (my fave)

Invasion

Desperate Housewives

Supernatural

Charmed

Northern Lights

never watch tv anymore ,it has gotten so bad that i am now buying old tv shows on dvd such as boys from the blackstuff and fawlty towers just to have something decent to watch at night after internet gaming with friends.my missus even bought me a gadget that plugs into usb so i can watch tv through the pc but i dont use it.lol

It's true sometimes there'e nothing on that I want to watch but I have sky + so I can watch anything that I've recorded on my hard disk - as I can choose to keep it to watch again. I also wach DVD's.

There are some shows I enjoy like Lost, Cold Case, Bones, Grey's Anatomy, without a Trace and ER.

I do not in general like reality tv shows but have enjoyed Supernanny and Brat Camp & Brat Camp USA
