Life on Mars

I know some of Life on Mars is filmed in Manchester but does anyone know where the huge warehouse is in the final shot of the trailer (where they are sat on the car)? Its not in Manchester but i think the show is made by BBC Wales so could be a clue.

It's made by Kudos Film and TV and is shot in and around Manchester.

It was ALL shot in and around Manchester. Greater Manchester is a big place.

I KNOW ITS A BIG PLACE- IVE BLINKING LIVED HERE MOST OF MY LIFE!
Trust me - i know Manchester very very well - especially abandoned warehouses and it is not in Manchester!
They are in front of a stretch of water and there is a huge derelict warehouse behind them. It could be Liverpool but for the last time it is not Manchester!
Unless you know something i dont xrayspecs (like a hidden bit of Manchester that i havent seen in my 35 years)?

gary, a colleague worked on the series. He assures me that the entire series was filmed in and around Manchester and locations within Gretaer Manchester.

I obviously dont know all the derelict warehouses in Greater Manchester.

Gary He did tell me but unfortunately I can't remember where it was he said. I'll ask him again next time I see him. He's a freelance so he doesn't work for Kudos directly and it is possible that they shot stuff he's not aware of. I say this because the more closely I look the more they look like the derelict warehouses that were across the Thames from the Dome. Nah, cant be!?

I'm a bit of a photographer on the quiet and do lots of urban landscapes and dereliction.
These warehouses look right up my street and like i said i thought i knew all the warehouses round my way.
Be great if you can find out but if its in London (they might have shot the trailer in London after the show was completed) i'm not bothered. They are very big so it could very well be in London and i'm not schleping down to London to photograph them. I'm surprised, where ever they are, they havent been turned into flats.

I'll be in London again next week so I'll go to the dome and have a look. I suspect they aren't because the whole of the waterfront in and around the dome was "regenerated" and boasts some very expensive waterside property. Possibly the only way to get at the truth is to e mail Kudos and ask.

Sorry some months after, but just spotted this when looking for something else....it's Spillar's Mill which is in Docklands (I filmed the trailers and yes all in London)
