biology based cartoon from the 80's

What was the name of the great cartoon series from the 80's that was all about the inner workings of the body, particulary the immune system. All the various germs and immune bodies where represented as people. I thought it might be called 'How your body works', but google doesn't show up anything for that.

Not sure if this is the right one, but I think it was called 'Once Upon a Time... Life'. There was also 'Once Upon a Time...Man' and 'Once Upon a Time... Space'. All of them had me glued to the TV, if not a little terrified of those strange characters!!!
