Nicky Campbell: 5Live Interview - Could This Be True???

Did this really happen:

A couple of days ago, Nicky Campbell was interviewing a couple on 5Live, following the tragic death of their infant child.

The baby was very big, (12lbs) and got stuck and died a few days after it as born of various injuries and brain damage.

Apparently, babies this big should be birthed with a caesarean section but doctors didn't tell the couple. They tried to have a natural birth unaware of the risks.
I've read that with the story over (and with the couple still in the studio), Campbell segued neatly to the next item with the line: "So, speaking of big babies, Manchester United play Arsenal tonight..."

Am I having my leg pulled? Did anyone else hear this???

I hope to God not.This has to be an urban myth surely no-one would be so lacking in compassion.

I'm now sure I'm having my leg pulled. Nicky Campbell is a professional broadcaster...I just can't imagine anyone, less someone who communicates for a living, saying something like that.

i was listening that morning. In fact, nicky campbell did say something similar to that, but not exactly that. It was the next feature and there was a reference to Big babies (the sporting kind) but in no way linking it to the previous item as it is suggested above. It did make me cringe when it was said (which is why i remember it) But i think it was coincidence

in fact you just got me very intrigued so i had a listen on listen again - it was at about 24 minutes past 8 - they thanked the people for being in the studio and said that their children who were with them had been well behaved Then nicky said "from model behaviour to arsenal against manu u" then shelagh said "not model behaviour" and nicky said "no, they act more like big babies"

Thank God that was clarified.Choice of words could have been better but we undoubtedly have been guilty of Freudian slips.

Not as bad as you and I thought sp1814 - thankfully.
