Is anyone as horrified as I am that Barrymore is rumoured to be on next edition of Big Brother, for a fee of 150,000. This excuse for a man legged it when a man was dying in his pool. I have Emailed Channel 4 to view my opinion, and hope anyone else who feels the same will do likewise.

its unbelievable that his name should be even be put forward for consideration, maybe its just a ploy to get some press coverage for a show that quite truthfully does not do anything for me.

Well, let's all put our money where our mouths are - email Channel 4! Power to the people!!!
here here! Is there a petition or anything to sign?
Question Author
No petition, but if you feel strongly as I do, get Channel 4 on website, and there is a 'contact us' link. Let them know what you think
just dont watch it ! i know i wont be.
Was Michael Barrymore either accused or prosecuted for any wrong doing?
Do the words "witch' and 'hunt' mean anything?
Has gary baldy ever heard the term "No smoke without fire?"
Yes i have and so have the Guildford Four, the Birmingham Six, Stefan Kisko, Sally Clark et al.

no bickering girls...

I think matt was right..just don`t watch it!!

I have a feeling he might make a good fist of this

gary baldy do you wish to add Michael Jackson and O.J. Simpson to your list?

Even M. Barrymores' ex-wife and manager stopped covering up for him in the end.

I wouldn't wish to comment on the two individuals you mentioned as I am not aware of the facts; but as for the B4 and G6 did that not have something to do with the way the police gathered evidence?

he didn't kill anyone did he?

he wasn't even there when it happened was he?

stop with the knee jerk lynch mob behaviour!

Joke-Oh,

I agree, lets be serious about this it was not Michael Barrymore's fault that he allowed some guy to gatecrash HIS party, in HIS house, drink HIS alcohol then be allowed to perform lewd sexual acts in HIS swimming pool with a large root vegetable (Rhymes with Harrow) and an electric whisk, after all children you should never play with electricity near water. You goody two shoes out there should not bring down an innocent charismatic TV personality with your witch hunts. Look back to recent years and the anguish suffered by ex-basketball star Mr Simpson, he wasn't there and the DNA tests performed on the blood found on his clothing was purely circumstantial. Well i'm off now, gotta catch the next plane to Thailand with my 10 year old daughter who is about to commence English lessons with a bed ridden 70's glam rock star turned teacher, this extensive course will be followed by a free holiday at Whacko Jacko's alcohol free, theraputic clinic for the care of abused children (Strictly Under 14's). This message has been brought to you by Mr P Townsend (Your wicked uncle Ernie)

None of what you mention above is illegal.

This sort of thing goes on all over - it may not be very nice but they were breaking no laws.

As I said, MB didn't kill him, merely happened to own the property the man unfortunately died in. He may not have behaved very well afterwards but that is not a crime either.

If someone is staying at my house and then, while i am asleep, decides to take a bath and drowns - is that my fault?

If they lose their footing on my stairs and break their neck, am I a murderer?

The other facetious crap you say is hardly relevent as they had much more evidence in those cases and were actually accused of murder and paedophilia.

I don't like MB in the slightest but he didn't actually kill anyone so why is he being treated as though he had?

bulbarsedum - just wondered, do you watch eastenders?
do you know, it doesn't matter to me whether or not MB did anything illegal or not. I think he is a shallow, cowardly, rat of a human being, who has been secretive and dishonest at every turn since that Lubbock guy died innhis pool. He's refused to answer salient questions at investigation and has behaved in an entirely self serving and disgusting manner throughout. I'm appalled that he's getting any airtime as, quite apart from the above, I find him about as funny as an emergency c section without anaesthetic. Channel 4 have already signed him up as a guest presenter for the new series of the Friday Night Project and he's already completed some filming, so I guess they hope that BB will help them in gettign him back on the box. I won't be watching, never have watched anything he's done on telly, ever.

OJ was a football player not a basketball player. Not relevant i know but i like to get these things straight.
Question Author
Boy, have I opened up a can of worms!. To answer a few questions, according to the papers MB lied and dodged questions at every twitch and turn. Said he would have been of no use as he could not swim, when his wife said he could swim. Also, the young man who died was NOT a gatecrasher. according to the papers he met MB in a local pub and he was invited back. I know only what I have read in papers, but ask yourself the question, if your son/daughter whatever was ill/in trouble in the street, needing help, would you want this person around?
It will be interesting to see how many of the housemates get out of the swimming pool when M.B gets in.

Joke-Pooh

If a man staying at your house drowned in the bath then of course you are not guilty, however if after examination it was found that the dead man had a sphincter the shape & circumference of a large root vegetable and filled with more se(a)men than the QE2 then yes I think you would have some explaining to do. As for the scenario you mention about the man dying from falling down the stairs I think you would not be liable or guilty of murder, unless of course you keep your vegetable rack directly below and a certain vegetable was found embedded in his glory hole of course you would have to explain how it happened. In such cases Jerk-Oooh being a lesser known mortal without the charismatic personality and close friends of MB the inability to swim and refusing to answers questions would not be an acceptable line of defence.

I was wondering jockey-pants did you watch the TV series Queer as Folk?
