Last three episodes begin on Sunday, I'm very much looking forward to it but am sad there will be no more.
I was sceptical at the start, thinking it could never live up to Morse and the great John Thaw but I was proven wrong.
Hope there will be another long running crime drama of the same quality to replace it,

I'm going to watch it again, I thought I must have fallen asleep because it seemed very muddled!
I felt so sorry for Morse when he found that Joan was to marry Jim, we knew, because of the Morse series, that he never married but he had been such a fool, she was clearly so keen on him.
Yes. Shame they didn’t get together. His being teetotal went for a Burton as soon as he found out she was engaged didn’t it? If you DO watch it again take note of what they said about the place where the man’s mother worked. Morse had a quick flashback and I think it was something to do with a previous case
The conspiracy theorist in me, having rewatched it, is wondering if the man from the North East who consulted the PI being called Lewis is relevant!

Good point, Zebo. I think I’ll have to watch it again, too

The mother worked for a construction firm that built a block of flats that collapsed ("Duguello").

I have now watched it again and noticed a poster advertising Dexter's Satchels in the department store, a nice nod to Colin Dexter.
I also noticed the reference to the 9th symphony often being a composers last, the 10th unfinished due to the death of the composer. This is, of course, the 9th series of Endeavour.

I think Thursday's end story is linked to the dead man, we shall see
All will be revealed tonight (or not!!!) We will have to watch more carefully than we did last week.
Question Author
I won't be watching it till Tuesday at least, so will look back in after that
Kustard, i think the 'previous case' to which you refer was from Series 2, in which Thursday was shot at Blenheim Vale, and Morse was framed for murder.
Thanks for that Ken. I have the memory span of a goldfish but am sure the place was a children's home not as DrMorgan said. I'm going to watch it later as well Barry - no chance after 9 at night. I'd just keep falling asleep in it!!!!

Sorry, I obviously didn't make myself clear. "Mrs Lewis" worked for a construction firm that built a tower block that collapsed. In a different storyline, a clique of people were involved in a children's home where abuse went on. The police ("County") covered up what happened.
Thanks for that DrMorgans. I think I am getting a bit fed up now of a storyline that means you have to watch past series to know what is going on (or not!!!). Bring back things like Midsomer Murders where you could watch episodes in any order and they would all have a beginning and an end LOL
i am also finding it hard to recall the previous stuff ... i blame our bingewatching culture - you dont have to remember previous plots for lomg!
