Given Strange's warning to Morse to "not trust even your closest", it's possible, although I did consider Fred might be playing the others along, as part of a sting to nab the "bad" element at the station.

I did hint at the possibility last week on another thread. I watched all the Morse episodes with John Thaw and i do not recall him ever mentioning Thursday, so something must take place?

Speaking of last night's episode, in one scene there was a woman wearing a white/beige coat looking in a shop window. every so often she turned and looked at Morse. I thought at first it was Thursday's daughter, but in a later scene she was coming out of the same shop and as Morse passed her, he nodded her a 'good morning'. If she was an extra, she was hardly being inconspicuous.

No, she isn't. She very angry and resentful about Thursday having to delay the promised retirement because he lost all his savings when he lent the money to his no good brother and never got it back

Spicerack; it may well be 'pointer' to Thursday turning bent so as to afford to take her on holiday and save his marriage? Just my opinion, of course, that may or may not happen.

I thought it suited him but I wouldn't say I'm particularly qualified to say so.
And that Morse mightn't have been married but he was a dirty old goat. Every episode he was sniffing around witnesses, suspects and even victims. (which I'm sure must be against some rule or other)

Smow, many, many guys have toyed with growing facial hair at some point or other in their lives. One of the first things i did upon leaving the army was to grow my hair and go unshaven for a few months. Didn't suit the facial hair but i did look 10 years younger when i got rid of it:-)
