I’ve just looked on my Sky Q listings and find I’ve only got 7% recording space left. I have hoarding tendencies in the real world that I have to overcome, now I’m going to have to have a clear out of the Sky planner.

There’s 29 episodes of Foyles War, 18 Touch of Frost, the last series of Criminal Minds…..I think I need my head read,

Don't panic. Delete the lot, you can be sure they will be repeated soon enough if you regret deleting them
If you find someone to read your head, Rocky they could do mine too. When I look to have a clear out I think....Hmmm, might watch that.
I don't.
Snap Rocky ! I found myself in the same situation. I deleted loads which was very satisfying and haven't missed them at all.
But serials that are only shown week to week - like Happy Valley - I do like to save up . I lose track otherwise.

Oh No! Barry, couldn't do that. The thought gives me palpitations.

Gness, that's me. I still can't delete stuff just in case I might need something to watch. What if I was bedbound for a couple of months, I'd need all that TV to get me through. Just like I can't throw away fabrics that I've had in the cupboard for 10 years, just in case I might take up dressmaking. I'd love to, but probably won't.

Rosie, I'm hoping I find it satisfying. Not holding my breath though. Will let you know :0)
I think a lot of us are the same, I have many, many recordings, some dating back well over a year. I'm pretty certain I'll never watch them all, but I won't get rid of them!
Question Author
I've just culled. There was a whole series of something or another from 2019!
I've got it down to 51% and can't go any lower. Scary stuff!
I am the same and run at about 6% space but mine are not things I won't watch they are all films that have uplifting bits or feelgood endings. I've added the K for keep to most of them.
Question Author
I think you're right, Fitdarren.. Most of us are probably the same. I'll be back up to 90 odd % soon enough.
Yes, you probably will rocky. Until this thread though, I thought only me did it (lol).
Question Author
Prudie, 6%? No, no no.
I can't use the K as it'll be on everything. The only thing I have locked is Love Actually. If anyone deletes that, they're dead.

Admittedly, there is other stuff that I can get rid of but I think the kids have taped it so will have to ask them if they still want it or not.

I feel a bit better about it now :0)
A question for anyone who may have an answer. When I have watched a programme I have recorded, there is a green dot at the side of the programme and a comment saying 'already recorded' and for the life of me I can't get rid of the dot to record again (if I want to). Does anybody else have this problem and how have you solved it?
Don't have Sky, but in a previous life used to record programmes on VHS tapes. Found a whole pile of them in the loft - never watched. Now consigned to the skip.
Oh the fabric, Rocky! Years of dressmaking and theatre costumes leaves me with boxes of fabric that I can't part with.
Then there is the left over wool. The intention is to make multi coloured blankets and twiddlemuffs for the charity shop to use it all up.
Then I'm not quite happy with the colours so I buy more wool to finish them to my liking. That means more leftovers instead of less!
I don't record anything...and I haven't got a clue how.
Problem solved!

Oh my days! I sound like you. I have a poor Dave at home as well. Though it's the other way round, he's the Irish one.

Palpitations again. What if you miss something.

I think I'm far too attached to the telly for my own good.
Question Author
I remember those days, Maggie.
My dad used to tape over all his used tapes during the middle of the night (for white noise). He was, and still is, convinced that it gave him a brand new tape.
Ive just done the same thing, loads of episodes of OFAH and Rick Stein and James Martin cooking shows.
Question Author
Rick Stein and Saturday kitchen was included in the recent cull.

Sky seems to series link if you just do a general recording, which Mr RR does every flippin night.
