I've just bought a new Bush 24" TV with Freeview. I keep seeing adverts for ITVX which I had used to watch some programmes on catch up on my laptop - but can I watch it on the TV and if so how?

Is it a smart TV?
Question Author
Its a Bush 24 Inch Smart HD Ready HDR Freeview TV
Install the app on the tv
It should already be on a new TV.
If not go to the Google Playstore and download it.
Question Author
I have no idea what any of that means or how to instal an app! You need to explain in words of one syllabubble and one step at a time please. I have got some apps on my phone.
If it's this model
https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9428463
it should have the ITV Hub app on it, which will hopefully automatically update to become ITVX without you having to do anything. However some smart TV sets aren't compatible with the ITVX app. If ITV Hub doesn't auto-update to ITVX, yours is one of them.

If it's this TV set
https://www.argos.co.uk/product/9359460
then it's not 'smart', meaning that (on its own) it can't be used to access any streaming services at all.

If you've got the first set above and you find that ITV Hub doesn't become ITVX without you taking any action, or if you've bought the second set above, you'll need to buy an external device (such as one from Roku or an Amazon Fire TV Stick) in order to view ITVX.
The TV needs to be linked to your router so it can access the internet.
Not familiar with your TV but is it connected to the internet and does your remote have a button that says 'apps'?
At the moment ITVX is appearing on your screen as ITV hub, once you have gone into it, it will change to X. We are watching it at the moment.

Its the first one Chris.

How do I 'go into it'?
Question Author
Please folks I'm not trying to be difficult but I honestly don't know if its connected to the internet - or if I've got ITV Hub on it. I just turn it on and I get the normal TV channels. There are some words on the buttons on the remote such as Netflix, Youtube, Prime Video, Twitch, F Pay, Rakuten (or something like that).
If you have the apps, press the button on your remote and all your apps will come up on the screen, and you will be able to select ITV Hub.
Question Author
It took me an hour to get the base attached and then had to ask a neighbour to open the back of the remote to put the batteries in.
Question Author
How do I know if I have got the apps?
From the manual at
https://www.argos-support.co.uk/instruction-manual/9428463-bush-24-inch-smart-hd-ready-hdr-freeview-tv.pdf

"Apps
You can access the applications installed on your TV
from the Home menu. Press the Menu button on the
remote, Home menu will be displayed. Highlight an app
and press OK to launch."
No point if you haven't put the router password in. It won't be linked to the internet. You need a teenager.
Question Author
Ok found home button and then selected ITV Hub but then nothing happens and it says no internet connection.
Question Author
Right where do I put the router password in.
Did it not go into ‘set up’ when you first switched it on?
