What is Rosie Jones doing comparing the live at the Apollo Xmas special? She may well be funny but it's too excruciating listening to her. Why are we now letting people who are manifestly unsuitable do this kind of thing? More woke cobras I suppose.

In my opinion its not because she's disabled per say , its because her disability is not congruent to hosting a TV programme or stand up comedy. Also, her comedy is just not funny.

That's 'the fabulous' Rosie Jones, Tora.
Who?
Question Author
quite right dougie she was indeed billed as "The Fabulous...."
Yes I find her totally unfunny and I feel uncomfortable waiting for her to deliver the lines that you know won't be worth the wait
Comparing, compèring or commèring?
Question Author
bob, she may well be funny but I have never listened long enough to find out. I just fast forwarded until she introduced the comedians. This is 1 of 7 I hope she's not doing them all.
Can’t stand the racket she makes. I switch her off - pronto. Awful!
She's a lesbian you know.
I like Rosie but I can't cope with shrieking and screeching, it physically hurts. I have to mute the TV and rely on subtitles. It is nothing to do with her disability, there are a few able bodied people on TV I have to mute
Question Author
I don't care where she's from doug.
^^what - she speaks French ?
I know of her and seen her as a guest but I've never watched her doing stand up. I feel bad saying this but I have trouble making out what she is saying.
When she acted in a few episodes of Casualty earlier in the year she was really good, but that is very a different think from stand-up.
On the other hand, I can't stand Michael McIntyre. (Awaits howls of derision!)
She's not funny.
Like a number of disabled and minority comedians she tends to focus on her disability. If she wants to prove herself maybe she should try using material that isn't disability specific and be compared like for like with her non disabled peers
I can't find her even remotely funny, just embarrassing
> it's too excruciating listening to her

Perhaps if (like many other viewers) you were disabled yourself, it would be more tolerable for you, you poor thing ...

In my opinion its not because she's disabled per say , its because her disability is not congruent to hosting a TV programme or stand up comedy. Also, her comedy is just not funny.
Ellipsis, her constant screeching is nothing to do with her disability
Aye Barry, I'm thinking of Alan Carr, Tom Allen, Biggins, even the great Simon Amstell and finding the same sort of shrillness.
