Given the result of the Brexit vote, does she have a compelling case? I’d say she does but I guess it’s for the Supreme Court to decide? I wouldn’t like to see a break-up of the Union but it’s undeniable that Brexit has had a bearing on the whole debate.
Can’t help but feel the more Truss ignores her, the more Sturgeon can play on that attitude with the undecided.

Meanwhile, Sturgeon creates a furore in her remark about Tories….

She definitely shouldn’t have said it…..though I’ve a feeling she’s vocalising the thoughts of many right now.
Could be held. I’m not sure she has the timing right, it’s only a year.
Don’t worry. If that one fails to hit the spot with the Scots like the last one did she’ll hold one every year until it works.
Nasty little woman, she's not exactly popular herself
Yes bring it on. Maybe she'll shut the F up when she loses again!
She has less than a third of the Scottish electorate behind her.. Don't believe the hype you see in the media. Her arrival at Dunfermline last wee was a truer reflection of her popularity in Scotland.. Drowned out by Boos..
Indeed, nippy sweeties are not flavour of the month.

Hopefully (for them) the Scots will give up on her!

That’s the bit I find perplexing, the third of the electorate bit?
They lost the vote last time by 55% to 45% but I’d reason that as they didn’t vote for the subsequent Brexit then it’d be a closer run thing the next time?
My knowledge of Scottish politics is not up to par, I’m just going on what seems possible but even more so in the current political climate?

Davebro,
//Hopefully (for them) the Scots will give up on her!//

Odd stance given that only recently your view was one of good riddance and sooner the better?
Does your pathological disdain for the Scots cloud every comment about them?
You want them to leave the Union, so what’s your problem?
It's quite bleedin' obvious - the canny Scots know the SNP will screw the best deals out of Westminster but Independence would ruin the country. They vote SNP but don't accept SNP's main objective. They are - to use a common phrase DAMN SAVAGES!e

So you’ll be glad to see Sturgeon succeed then and wish her every success, obviously?
It fascinates me that so many ABers hate Ms Sturgeon. Why do they?
//So you’ll be glad to see Sturgeon succeed then and wish her every success, obviously?//

Of course - haven't I already made myself clear?
Did it fascinate you why so many ABers hated on Farage?
Or Trump ^?
//Given the result of the Brexit vote, does she have a compelling case?//

Brexit or not, she doesn't have a compelling case (to hold a referendum without the consent of the UK government). Constitutional matters are reserved for Westminster. That said, it is not unheard of for the Supreme Court to poke its nose into constitutional matters that are rightly reserved for Parliament, so anything could happen.

Personally, I don't see what all the fuss is about. It's quite clear there is nothing for the vast majority of the rest of the inhabitants of the UK from Scotland's participation in the Union (apart from a hefty bill). It was obvious that these delusions of grandeur would follow from Blair's ludicrous devolution arrangements; the Scots would never be content with operating the trains and emptying the bins. I nearly forgot running the ferries, so would many users of them I imagine considering the balls up the SNP has made of them.

If the majority of Scots are fed up with benefitting from the "free" services that an extra couple of grand per head brings them annually then it would be better all round if they just went their own way. It would stop them continually moaning about their lot and it might even get the ghastly Ms Sturgeon off my telly.

Did they? Never noticed.
I wasn’t one of them though, so bang goes your theory, I’ve said before that I was actually pro-Brexit……until all the lies and promises about its ‘benefits’ turned out to be utter garbage.

Not at all, you generally boast about how many Scottish friends you have and you’d be sad to see ‘the wee un’ take them out of the Union.

No - because you weren't even here were you? Oh wait....
