morning, Friday already and the end of the working week for some of you. I hope that you are as well as can be, if ailing then you have my sympathy, and that your day is a pleasant one. Anything planned for today? I have a friend popping in this afternoon for a natter, which will be nice.

morning smow, how are you ?
So-so. Haven’t felt great this week so not been on here much - but a little better yesterday so started a job I’ve been avoiding for ages, which is going thru our cabinet in lounge - well the drawers & cupboards - and trying to clear out half the rubbish in it which we’ve kept for absolutely no reason!
Question Author
sometimes it's good to go through stuff, be careful you don't chuck out something thats important though.
I know, I just pulled a chair up and had two big bags on floor, and just did a little pile at a time - stuff to keep went back in cupboard/drawer, then stuff for bin in one and stuff for charity shop in another.

i have promised myself to get rid of all my diaries written years ago, they need shredding, but i can't seem to get around to it, plus sorting out latest letters and putting them in the filing cabinet. I just can't be bothered at the moment, however i will have to do it sometime,
Tell you what works for me lately Emmie, especially if like me you’re having a pain issue and some days everything feels a bit much - get a note pad/chalkboard/anything you can write on. And on it you write down the name of each room in the house, then a final list which is called GENERAL. So, whenever you think of anything that needs doing , or you’d like to get round to in time you just jot it down under the right name. So for example under LOUNGE I had ‘sort sideboard’. Then say under BEDROOM I might put something as simple as ‘hang up clothes on chair’. Absolutely anything, just jot things down as and when you think of them. Then, every day do just one thing. Just one. If you want to do more then fab, but just ticking one off every day is very satisfying, then you just keep adding things whenever you feel like. Yesterday I added ‘ do online food shop’ and stuck it under KITCHEN.

i know what you mean, though i haven't the energy for much these days, by the way i have got another appointment at the hospital, the 25th April, so have to sort out patient transport once again -
Question Author
how are you managing your pain now?
Smowball, I know what you mean about making a list, every time you cross something off the list you get a feeling of accomplishment So far, I've got a list with 20 notations of "make a list of things to do"...And not one of them is crossed off:)

morning Sanmac
Question Author
i know that well Sanmac, make lists and forget to do any.
Same tbh - I’ve got a couple of appointments in next week or so tho including a telephone one with consultant, and fracture clinic, plus couple of x rays to see how breaks are healing so will see what they say…..
My wife used to make grocery shopping lists, and about 50% of the time we went shopping the list was at home when we got back:)
Question Author
i hope yours go to plan smow, mine seems to be never ending.

Question Author
i do my shopping on line these days, i couldn't be doing with schlepping around the supermarket, though sometimes the online shop replaces items they haven't got.
Hi sanmac - exactly!! And the fact that it’s on paper rather then floating round in your head with a million other ideas/things to do. Even just crossing a tiny thing off every day is very satisfying.
Nowadays, I do very little shopping. I send an email with a list of items to my sister, and she brings them
every Saturday.
Question Author
good for her Mac, its good that you have someone to shop for you. My friends offer to get me stuff, but i generally don't need anything,
Sounds like a stress free way sanmac. It’s only in last month really that I’ve got back into routine of having a Morrisons delivery every week(not always same day), as due to back fracture I can’t drive, and even if I could I wouldn’t be able to lift shopping/sort it in supermarket etc, & MrSmow just doesn’t have time to go shopping instead, so home delivery it is…….
