£804 a WEEK ! How the hell is that justified ?? I don't know for sure, but I assume the state carries on paying.

That is the price in Nottingham - In Croydon it is over £1,000 a week and here in wales £500.00 and above.
Thats what happens when you privatise health and care services .The great god of PROFIT.

Thank you Mamy - interesting reading - seems you can keep a lot more of your money before the state steps in if you live in Wales- almost double the rest of the country. Thanks again
.
Shocking isn't it ? My beloved Dad had to go into a care home towards the end of his life and because he needed everything doing for him, we were told his care would be free. He only lived for a further 12 days in the home and yet Mum was billed over £1,000 despite us being told it was going to be free. I emailed the authorities and asked what was going on to which they replied it was an 'admin error' and cancelled the bill ! I wonder how many grieving widows without family to help them would have just paid up though !
That’s insane !!
You may think it’s a shocking price but how much do you think it is to get carers in to look after someone at home?
Hopefully baker mamya has answered your question
It's a situation I have never been in thankfully, but I am a great believer in arming yourself with as much information as possible. Just in case.
We were charged £250 a day for dads private care at home.
1250 a week down here for Alzheimer's.....
^ Wow !
we're just waiting to hear of NHS funding after they conducted a review of the Mater's needs - it won't cover all at the moment, but all donations gratefully received.....
People who need a care placement with complex learning disabilities can be up to £5k per week here
I’m actually stunned at the figures!
and loads of CH are going bankrupt!
