While Line of Duty is still, in my, view at the top of the list have been watching Above Suspicion (Lynda La Plante TV 2009-2012). All episodes on You Tube, quite superb.

I think Line Of Duty is excellent tv, and Above suspicion is also binge-worthy, but my favourite 'crime drama' as Hugo Blick's 'The Shadow Line' from 2011. Some top names appear alongside the leading role, Chiwetel Ejiofor, during the 7 episodes, including Christopher Eccleston, Rafe Spall and Stephen Rea. It involves the investigation of a murder, not...

I didn't know they did a dubbed version.
Seen it when reading reviews
Cardinal was very good. Like Endeavour and Foyle's War among others.
The Shadow Line was brilliant and certainly rivalled Line Of Duty, I always recommend it to friends and colleagues
I wonder if you can switch dubbing on on Netflix.
That's what I was thinking, Ricky. Must look into it.
I have The Shadow Line on DVD, Sticky - the only box set of DVDs i have ever purchased - but my DVD player is in Steptoe's back yard, aka my spare bedroom, and i just cannot be arissed sending a search party in for it. Perhaps in a few months when i've hung up the paint brush :-)

Another good series was River. Alas, it was a one-off.
Valhalla Murders - can you only watch it with subtitles??

Hellywelly4: Thanks for the tip about The Sum of All Fears. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Paigntonian - glad you enjoyed it.
The Valhalla Murders...subtitles only, pretty certain - dubbing into English is normally reserved for films that are destined for international release. TV series tend to get subtitles (probably because it's much cheaper than dubbing).
People who "don't do subtitles" are missing lots of very good TV.
(Personally, can't stand dubbed shows/films)
I agree about the subtitles - after a while they aren't noticeable, and some of the Scandi dramas have been wonderful.
I was one of those who couldn't abide watching something with sub-titles. Mainly because the subtitles disappeared long before i had time to read them. However, whether i got faster at reading them, or they now remain on screen for a tad longer, i no longer find them a problem and have enjoyed scores of excellent foreign series. I actually prefer the sub-titles to dubbing as i am always slightly put off when the lips do not match the sounds i am hearing :-)
