While Line of Duty is still, in my, view at the top of the list have been watching Above Suspicion (Lynda La Plante TV 2009-2012). All episodes on You Tube, quite superb.

I think Line Of Duty is excellent tv, and Above suspicion is also binge-worthy, but my favourite 'crime drama' as Hugo Blick's 'The Shadow Line' from 2011. I think Line Of Duty is excellent tv, and Above suspicion is also binge-worthy, but my favourite 'crime drama' as Hugo Blick's 'The Shadow Line' from 2011. Some top names appear alongside the leading role, Chiwetel Ejiofor, during the 7 episodes, including Christopher Eccleston, Rafe Spall and Stephen Rea. It involves the investigation of a murder, not just by the police, but by members of the criminal world. Unfortunately it is only available through Blueray and by purchase from Amazon Prime.
Love it
Line Of Duty is the best Crime Drama we have ever watched.
Love Line of Duty and patiently awaiting its return. Binge watching Spiral at the moment and loving it.
Line of Duty is fantastic but I also really enjoyed Dexter.
I like Endeavour as well lol
maggie, when i watched the last ever season (8) of Spiral on BBC4 recently, i knew i hadn't watched 7 series prior to this. So i began to play catch up and, just last night, finished watching series 4. As soon as Series 5 began, i knew that's where i had begun watching it.
I love Line of Duty, but for some Scandanavian crime drama, you can't beat The Bridge. Excellent performances from the whole cast.
Luther, Cracker, Prime Suspect, Blood in the Wire, Morse are among my favourites but I think Line of Duty is at the top of a very long list. Love crime dramas
Linay of Duty is written by Jed Mercurio who did Cardiac Arrest around twenty years ago
new one out this week end ( new series about X )

Dr Jed was anaesthetic reg in Bham in the 8os and wrote about the workers there. I was one of the other registrars and the sister who rips our hero off for wearing 'the wrong check shirt - and dont get it wrong again!" was sister in charge of the ITU at the old accky. The dear old boy who looked fter the juniors was - - - made up - a fantasm
there are some v good foreign language ones
Capitani is worf a butchiss

Spiral - really about the seven series long luuuurve affair bewteen Gilou and Laure ( man and girl - settle down, settle down)

the shield ( on FOUR I think)

I like the Bosch series on Prime. Having read the books, thought I'd give them a go - not disappointed. Each to his own though.
FBG40
Ken4155 - think that's what I did too. When I went back to series one I had the feeling that I knew some of the characters, especially Josephine and Roban. Now on series four and think I'm getting near to the episodes I watched so long ago.
Have also watched the first episode of The Bridge which I enjoyed.
Missing Montalbano - like losing a good friend.
Bosch, another great crime drama. And, as i've said on here before, Titus Welliver plays the part exactly as i imagined from reading thee books. I regularly check to see if a new series is ready to binge-watch.
Ken4155 - have taken a note of Bosch. Interesting fact (for me) about Roban - he is one day younger than me. Must have been a good year lol.

Thanks one and all.
Prime Suspect, especially the first three series was excellent. I also love many of the Nordic Noire Scandi dramas like The Bridge.
Re: Scandi dramas...just finished watching Series 1 of All The Sins...Series 2 is also available and takes place 15 years before Series 1.
(Walter Presents on All4), Recommended.
A really good one was Between The Lines from the early nineties:

Baptiste was excellent, The Missing another brilliant offering.
