Even if directors, producers, actors and crew members don't recognise a flop when they see it, accountants certainly will!

you cannot improve on perfection, madness.
There are very few remakes of anything that's any good .

Off the top of my head , The Magnificent seven is an exception
baz, I hope you mean the M7 as a remake of T7S? I am not aware of an actual remake of TM7 unless you mean the TM7RA and that was a sequel.
I didn't even know that they'd remade Ben Hur, when I saw it on the schedule I assumed it was the original, Stephen Boyd was one of my teenage heartthrobs!
