Never argue with an idiot, they'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. TBF though I have on here, occasionally forgotten that advice!
E for envelope when spelling stationery was a useful bit of advice.

I think it was from my mum who always thought I say too much, and she would say, don't tell everyone, everything.

I think mine was never call someones daughter ( you know) as you may have a daughter yourself some day from my Mum
Never buy a green car. I defied the advice and promptly wrote it off, always avoided them since.
Advice from my Mum in my teens //enjoy yourself, travel, have adventures and don't tie yourself down//

I did Bobbie! But I did tie myself down too young at 25. But we still travelled and had some adventures including throwing caution to the wind, giving up our jobs and moving to Norfolk and rebuilding a derelict cottage with our own bare hands whilst living in it.

Yes Margie, for me 25 was too young. Marriage or children never was in my plans. But my heart ruled my head! None of my friends married younger than that. My child was born when we were both 36.

like my daughter , she was 35 before having B and married nearly 10 years
My dad wrote to me just before my first tour of Ulster, imparting what he believed to be fine words of wisdom. "Always keep your back to the wall" he advised. I didn't have the heart to tell him that the 'enemy' had a penchant for throwing petrol bombs and standing against the wall was the last place i needed to be :-)
