The Game

Did anyone see that film called The game it was on channel 4 last night had Michael Douglas in it, i missed the last 20 minutes(fell asleep) what happened at the end does anybody know?

it was all fake and was a game purchased for him by his brother if i remember correctly.

Spoilers (highlight to read):

Can't remember the whole last 20 minutes, but MD and the girl end up on the run from the mysterious company, and end up on a rooftop. MD has a gun, and is waiting for the bad guys to burst through the door. They do, he fires and kills not a bad guy, but his brother - it has all been an elaborately set-up "birthday surprise".

Distraught, he throws himself off the roof, crashing through a huge glass canopy and onto...

...a huge foam landing pad. Even the rooftop was part of the ruse - everyone is OK, and it's all over.

After the party, he bids goodbye to the girl. The game is over.

I'm a big fan of Michael Douglas I think he is a great actor but this was beneath him, to say the script was implausible would be the understatement of the century.

Rubbish film, I'm not surprised you fell asleep.

I was so dissapointed with the ending, after that huge build up. i understadn he was a mean man and had to learn the 'value of life' or whatever, but it should have just ended with him falling off the building.

I don't think that the moral was that he needed to change his ways - I think the point was that he was still in "The Game".

if my brother did that to me, i wouldn't just smile and go "ohhhh, ok ha ha" i'd be furious!! what he went through was far too extreme for a joke!

he'd surely have been furious too, at least initially

get it out on dvd and watch again - a great film! Mattk is right but its a cool ending when he finally gets back to CRS.....find out........

Saw this film when it firct came out on video a while ago now, a great film, keep an eye out for E4 as they tend to put CH4's films on again.
