Could someone please give the ending to this, as the comments posted make it seem hard hitting. I gave uo twenty minutes into the second half as I was losing interest and finding it difficult to follow.

Hi. Only caught the last half hour or so but this is what I remember. Mistress ends up moving in with lover and wife cos wife takes pity on her. Teenage daughter not happy, almost gets intimate with boy in stable, changes her mind and gallops off on horse through town centre ending up in strangely empty car park. Mum and dad turn up, run all the way up to the top without getting out of breath. Daughter goes to jump over edge with horse but stops. Dad gives unconvincing speech about never leaving her again, they all go back home. At the very end, mistress goes swimming in swimming pool with lights strung up by ex boyfriend, then she's lying in hospital, then you see husband running race for charity with happy, smiling, supportive family in tow. Very believable, don'cha think?
Fatcat, the plot might not have been incredibly believable but (and I'm not usually one for "girl power" moments) did you not think the strength of the female characters in contrast to their pathetic, cowardly male counterparts was the true core of this drama? I found myself texting my mum in true "sistahood" style, halfway through and feeling very proud of the resilience of the fairer sex.

Despite feeling absolute disbelief that a wife would take care of her husbands mistress.....I found it very warming and that no matter what happens in life..humanity is a force that always comes through...nobody is perfect and in this drama it puts it across very well that love is more powerful than hatred!

Hi Cymbeline. I'm one of those nitpicky viewers who is switched off by little discrepencies that occur throughout stories. I stopped watching CSI because of the fact that they never tie their hair back when examining crime scenes! I found it increasingly irritating and spoilt my enjoyment of the show which is a bit sad I know. I really couldn't comment on the difference in the male and female character strengths as I didn't watch enough of it but it certainly seems to have touched a chord with people who have experienced cancer either themselves or with a loved one.
