I never knew what a mole was - I thought it was a growth on the skin :( I'm from Ireland, we have spuds!! ;)
I didn't know the White Chalk horses and Fovant badges were kept white often by volunteers, I just assumed they were always white

Some great answers. I find it hard to believe you never knew that gas holders rose and fell depending on the amount of gas in them, Spicerack. Didn't you notice? I remember the very nasty smell from them.

I was surprised about the volunteers painting the white horse white, too.
