Tonight, we will see Hastings strongly protesting his innocence. That he was only trying to set a trap for the real "H". But he will be charged, tried, convicted and sentenced. And that will be the end of that and the series. "H" is banged up at last. But hang on! There's a Series 6 coming along isn't there? Yep. And this will focus on Hastings proving his innocence and the exposure of the real "H". Which begs the question, why couldn't he do it Series 5? Good innit?
Anyway, it makes me wonder why the Met need all those AC Units all over the place. Is the writer trying to secretly convey some kind of inside knowledge?

can't be Hastings can it? i mean, would he really pick H as a moniker?

Will we know he's innocent, or will we have to wait for Series 6?

So far, there's not even a hint that he's innocent. Although I think viewers want him to be. Would he pick H as a moniker? Perhaps, if he thought he was going to get away with it. Don't rule out the Northern Ireland thing yet. But in the end, we will all probably be wide of the mark and H will trun out to be Phillip Hammond!
The snooker's on as well - it could be John Higgins masquerading as H
I think it's a woman.

Foul! And a miss! It aint him, for sure.
I think it's the detective male....bit shifty, wot.
Steve Arnott, DCT?
I have a good idea who H is, but I’m so sure that I’m going to keep it to myself so as not to give away a spoiler.

By the way, the writer Jed Mercurio has not yet confirmed that there will be a sixth season.

That was a story made up by a tabloid newspaper.

I watched the first series again last week. At one point Arnott is about to throw in the towel and Hastings says something that makes him change his mind. After Arnott had walked away fired up to carry on the investigation, Hastings said to himself ‘Go on my son’. I can’t reconcile that with him being corrupt.

Does anyone think that Lisa McQueen is the daughter of Jackie Laverty and Tony Gates, from Series 1, who has infiltrated the group to find out what happened to her mum? We weren’t told how old they were when they had their first relationship, but going from their ages in real life, and of course skin colour, it is feasible.
Most of the chatter I’ve read, and I concur with, think it’s a woman, and not even a H. Hopefully we’ll find out tonight.
Nicktor, now that is very interesting.
There are a few sources - not just the Sun - that confirm a sixth series is in the offing, so i believe we can look forward to more from AC12 after tonight's finale.
In which we may, or may not, discover the true identity of 'H'. We are all assuming that the mastermind's surname begins with the letter 'H'. Yet when Kate Fleming asked 'Dot' Cotton for the id of the main man, she went through the alphabet before he nodded/blinked/whatever when she reached the letter 'H'. Then he died. So it could be the christian name of Mr/Mrs/Ms Big. Whoever is 'H' must be absolutely rolling in money yet Hastings hasn't got a pot to....................well you know the rest.
I won't be able to watch it tonight, so will have to stay well away from the internet. :(
Hastings is too obvious. If they spend one episode making him look guilty, it's a good bet that in the next episode he won't be.
Ken, yes, my guess is he was trying to blink "Theresa May" but died too young.
One can see the last episode on BBC Iplayer, I did yesterday.
aog, i appreciate your restraint in not telling us any more :-)
“One can see the last episode on BBC Iplayer, I did yesterday.”

How did I not know this.......I’m off to watch it now.
it's not on my iPlayer, maybe I have an old one.
