What was going on with the birth certificates? I couldn't make sense what they were going on about with umpteen different copies.

The programme bears no relation to how it was years ago. It used to be a family show with light hearted entertainment and amusing episodes. Now it is so dark.
I hope for better things to come with new people at the helm.

The birth had to be registered with Eva as the mother so they needed to fake a birth certificate to show the surrogate as the mother and fake the private fostering papers as well.

I couldn't understand all the birth certificates either ! Can't imagine for the life of me why Aiden commits suicide, where did that come from ??

Aiden's suicide has been brewing for a while - he's been troubled and was preparing to do it earlier but Carla's need for a kidney stopped him.

He posted a letter to his dad, Johnnie, then later that day found out that Carla needed a transplant. Next morning he intercepted the postman and got the letter back - suicide note, farewell letter?
He's often distant during family gatherings and does seem depressed. Several times his dad has asked him if he's okay. Carla was disappointed by his reaction when she handed over the factory to him, he was flat and despondent.
Aiden was crying in the hospital bed after the transplant, he's been obviously down at other times, too. Poor chap.
