Doctor Won’T See My Son

For a good few years my son has had a small growth right in the middle of the skin right underneath his bottom lip.

In the past couple of months it has become itchy and slightly inflamed. He has tried to get a telephone consultation with his doctor to get them to have a look at it but with the new arrangements, you have to ring them and trying to get through is a nightmare.

I finally today went into the surgery for him and they said they would ring him.

What they have said to him is that he will have to go privately to get it removed, as if they refer him, it probably won’t be serious enough for the NHS to remove it.

HOW CAN THEY KNOW WITHOUT SEEING IT????

What should he do?

make appointment to be seen !!
If that is a true representation of the facts, then that is scandalous.
What should he do? Go private.

"HOW CAN THEY KNOW WITHOUT SEEING IT???? "
They can't.

You can’t, mm. if the doctor on the phone says it’s not serious then he’s stuffed. Or so it seems to me.
then make an appointment without saying what the issue is..he HAS to be seen....

What would going privately cost him, sqad? Roughly?
or present at hospital for all the doc knows this could be Carcinogenic ?
£200, should cover the consultation and the excision biopsy if need be.
Just get him to make an appointment. It's ridiculous that a doctor is saying, it's not serious, over the phone.
He should make an ordinary appointment. I take it that he is an adult?

He’s 38. Lol. I’ve got a feeling that if the “phone” doctor says no, there’s not a lot he can do.
Its a shame that AB has got a swear filter, this sort of thing makes me want to ****
What on earth makes it so difficult to get to see a GP nowadays?
That is disgusting. Do you have to say why you want to see the dr. when you make an appointment in the UK ?
//I’ve got a feeling that if the “phone” doctor says no, there’s not a lot he can do//
Wouldn't bank on that chrissa.

My elderly (and sick) mum has had the same. That was until my sister threatened to get the local press involved. Suddenly an appointment was ''found'' where as before there wernt any!
Strange that!
Your doctor may be one of Hunt's saboteurs, wrecking from the inside out.

Alternatively he's just a lazy forker wanting all that cash every year for minimum effort.

In either case, don't take their snash.

Totally agree, nailit. I’m not even asking for an urgent appointment. Anytime will do.

Don’t worry. I’m on it. He works all day.
Stick at it, Chrissa....I had similar and when it grew into a heart shaped, large spot I was fobbed off three times.
Eventually a consultant agreed to remove it but changed his mind when I got to the ward for the procedure.
He said it was a spot....I was vain and if I insisted he remove it I would end up looking like Elvis doing his twisted lip thing.
I got him to agree to a biopsy by refusing to leave the hospital ....part way through he said it wasn't a spot but a BCC.....I got him to remove it there and then....he did in anger and I now have a horrid deformity above my lip......I have put a widow's curse on him.....
Stand your ground! Get them to refer him to somebody who has the experience to decide if it should be removed or not...that is what they are there for and paid for......x

That’s awful gness!!!
He was one of those handsome, god's gift to his patients, pompous consultants, Chrissa......
When I asked why it had gone the way it had....(I know it can be done better).....I was told to be grateful I didn't have some of the facial deformities he sees......x
Terrible for you gness. Yes Chrissa please get your son looked at - my neighbour's aunt had similar but on upper lip. It was cancerous but she went private and got it removed and never looked back. They do have lots of money.
I'm not very enamoured at our local surgery. Failed to do fil's blood tests. Twice. Refused to do home visit. Delayed pm for a week because refused to answer coroners questions. Keep at em chrissa.
